MANHASSET, NEW YORK, APRIL 30, 2018 Linda L. Sepeda of Fremont, California has been recognized as a Woman of Empowerment by P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized) for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of intimate apparel.

ABOUT LINDA L. SEPEDA, PM, CPIM, OWNER

Linda Sepeda is the Owner of Violet’s Valentines, a business which designs custom shapewear, undergarments and image consulting in Union City, California.  She is a certified bra designer, creating custom bras and other intimate apparel for everyday wear, special occasions and special requirements, such as mastectomy or nursing.  Linda also teaches bra-making classes.

Linda obtained a B.A. in Business Management and Accounting from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a M.A. in Program Management from George Washington University (thru ESI International) in 2014.  She served in the IT field beginning in coding and eventually became the head of IT in several of her positions.  She moved into project, program, and portfolio management, and taught Project Management Professional (PMP) certification courses to PMP candidates.  She held positions at Hewlett-Packard, ASK, Adaptec, CompuServe, EDS prior to its becoming an EDS company, Synarc, Keane, Siemens Information Systems, Ltd., Nestle Dreyers Ice Cream Co., Nestle USA, Visa, Msquared Consulting (USA), and Solomon Edwards.  She is a Project Management Professional and is certified in supply chain management (CPIM.)  After 30 years in IT, Linda decided to branch away and start her own business.

Linda became interested in bras and intimate apparel in 1996, after having a mammogram and receiving non-routine results.  After her mastectomy, she wore plain cotton bras for a few years.  She finally found a store that sold mastectomy bras that were pretty which made her feel feminine again, but styles were limited.  That feeling of finding and wearing a feminine, beautiful bra is what Linda wants every woman to feel, no matter what figure variations she might have.  She makes beautiful bras for anyone that will be comfortable for that particular person, custom made in “size you”.  Women can call for a private consultation at their private home or location.  They specialize in everyday and special occasion bras, lingerie and swimwear and special requirements which include mastectomy and nursing bras, asymmetry, prostheses, shapewear and foundation garments.

The business opened in May 2017 and is named after Linda’s mother, Violet Valentine.  She was an amazing woman, who after being widowed at 42 with three children at home, managed to raise them by herself, doing many creative projects, including working in a lingerie factory.  She sewed Barbie doll gowns out of scraps from the lingerie factory for her daughters and created amazing Halloween costumes for her children.  She provided an example of how to meet whatever life hands you with grace.

Ms. Sepeda obtained her Bra Fit for Every Body certification on 05/05/2017 from The School of Sewing Arts & Design in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.   She became certified in special requirements design and construction (e.g., prostheses, nursing) on 09/30/2017.  She became certified in image consulting from Color Me Beautiful in London, England on 06/28/17.  Linda speaks German, Italian and Spanish.  In her spare time, she enjoys ballroom dancing and sewing.

“Many women wear the wrong size bra, and doing that can hurt for a number of reasons.  It can also affect circulation and cause numbness.  The shoulders and back can hurt.  Wires could constrict or poke.  A properly sized bra can alleviate many of these conditions, and might even make you look younger and slimmer.”—Linda Sepeda
